Did you know that movie theaters pay anywhere from 35%-65% of our Box Office profits to the film studios?  This means that when you buy concessions you are truly supporting a small business by helping us to keep our lights on and our staff paid!

Plus, everyone knows we have the best popcorn in Sullivan County.  It comes from a fourth generation farm in Lancaster, PA and is 100% organic.  The kernels are popped in pure coconut oil and the light yellow tint comes from a small amount of beta-carotene added during the popping process.

While most theaters use “butter topping” (artificially flavored vegetable oil), The Callicoon Theater continues to serve 100% real melted butter on our popcorn.  The butter is cooked down until almost all the water has evaporated from the buttercream and the product becomes 99.9% butterfat.  The product becomes shelf-stable and because the water is gone it doesn’t make your popcorn soggy!  “Clarified butter” is basically what you get alongside a lobster in a fancy restaurant.  It costs as much as liquid gold...but you can really taste the difference and we are proud to keep doing things the old fashioned way.
